In 1987, Tony Mazzolini's dream of finding a B-29 that could be restored to flying condition became a reality when he found Doc, a B-29 Superfortress, in the Mojave Desert. Doc was being used at Naval Ordnance Test Station at California’s China Lake for aerial ballistic target practice. Once he secured permission to restore this warbird, it took an additional twelve years before Tony and his team were able to take possession and begin the long journey to bring Doc back to life and back into the clear blue skies.
Tony Mazzolini and Tom Pescha are here to take you on their Incredible journey with Doc from China Lake to Clear Blue Skies.
